Stress management and pain management is our speciality.
Various styles influence our general yoga classes at Maitri Fitness, but main classes are Hatha Yoga designed with with Vinyasa Krama principles (where each class has an aim, or focus).
We believe that the yoga you practice will differ depending on your mood and your current physical state. Therefore classes are adapted accordingly with options from gentle to challenging.
We have regular specialist yoga classes on the timetable too:
Relax, Release and Meditate – a combination of Yin, Restorative, very gentle Hatha and Meditation. There are no standing poses in this class.
Pure Flexibility – for anyone wanting to increase their flexibility. Options for all, from the very stiff to those who already have good flexibility and are looking for extreme flexibility for toga asana, dance, gymnastics, martial arts or cheerleading.
Mums n Bubs – from early post-natal to toddlers. Mums get their yoga time and bubs get some yoga time too.
Core Blast Yoga and Pilates - Your core will never be the same again! Get the best core strength workout to improve your tone, posture, balance and overall fitness. A great addition to any weight loss program.
Maitri Fitness yoga classes are a blend of yoga styles, and you'll see influences from Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Yin and Restorative.
General yoga classes focus on strength and flexibility. Relaxation, breathing and meditation are also featured.
The asanas (poses) can help with your fitness, to get you stronger, more flexible and sculpt your body. They are also about stress and anxiety management through breath control, mental focus, and the realignment and relaxation methods used in our yin and restorative yoga sessions.
If you're booking a private class then it will be focussed around what you want, from the mixture of what we offer.
