Please Note: This is not a yoga class, we use stretching techniques devised from yoga and conditioning teachings but there is no yoga theory, savasana, chanting or mind work.
This pure flexibility class is for everyone - the stiffer, the better! You learn simple techniques to release tight muscles so that you can get more out of your movements, feel less stiff and reduce pain.
There are options for regular people, as well as those wanting to improve their flexibility for: sports performance (especially cyclists, runners and swimmers), dance, martial arts, cheerleading, yoga and weight training.
Alongside leg flexibility, your back, shoulder and hip flexibility are all important, so we work on these too. Sometimes we practice poses on our own and some times we have the option to buddy up with friends to help get us that little bit further into a stretch.
Whether it's purely to get into the splits, to increase the flexibility of your back, or for fully-body flexibility, the methods used at Maitri Fitness have proven results.
