I don't know about you, but it blew me away having a song written about me and all this joy and shared laughter reminded me of how we should be acting ourselves.
Yes, kids draw people and make up tunes all the time, but this week I've been a bit down and being around such pure spirits has lightened my mood.
These kids didn't know I was down. They didn't say nice things, ask to give me a hug, or give me one of their elastic-band bracelets to wear because they wanted me to feel better. They just wanted to share and be happy.
Express yourself any way you want. No matter how good you are at that form of expression. Kids don't care that their art isn't perfect, that their dance steps aren't in time with each other and their singing voice isn't pitch perfect.... Or they shouldn't for the most part, so why should we? Let's dance and sing and draw and play like it doesn't matter how we do it... Because it doesn't matter...
It's the joy that we get from it and the joy we spread to others by it that matters more than the act itself :)
