It doesn't necessarily mean you have to know people when you first come to classes either! You'll probably make good friends, even if you didn't know anyone before you stepped into our studio.
To keep this post short and sweet I'm going to list my top three benefits that I've noticed through people exercising together:
- You smile more in class, which releases Neuropeptides, Serotonin and Endorphins. These help you fight stress and sleep better.
- You are more likely to come to a class if you've arranged to go with a friend, especially if you car share or walk in together.
- You meet your fitness goals quicker with the encouragement, inspiration and sometimes friendly rivalry, of your classmates.
I know I've collected an amazing group of friends through running Maitri Fitness, so I hope you feel the same. If you haven't made any good friends yet why don't you just smile and say hi to the first person you see there next time... if nothing else it'll give you a happy hormone boost just by smiling yourself!
